Artist Advisory Committee

DETROIT SALON formed an Artist Advisory Committee in 2023 to guide the program’s early development. Over the past year, the Committee has explored Detroit’s art narratives, local and global artist needs, and a fair, inclusive selection process.

Curatorial Committee

Since its inception, DETROIT SALON has engaged local museums as cultural partners. In collaboration with CultureSource—an advocacy organization for Southeast Michigan’s cultural institutions—the Curatorial Committee will bring the perspectives of leading Michigan and Detroit museums into the program’s formative stage.

The Committee consists of curatorial representatives from institutions including: the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MoCAD), Detroit Institute of Arts, Cranbrook Art Museum, Charles H. Wright Museum, University of Michigan Museum of Art, Arab American National Museum, Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, Black Artists Archive, and Grand Rapids Art Museum.

Art Patrons Committee

Inspired by Art Basel Miami Beach, the Art Patrons Committee consists of key community leaders, art collectors, and patrons from across Detroit’s diverse communities. This committee of passionate advocates for art, culture, and the city serve as champions of the program.
